Antique unusual quarter repeater pocket watchYears: appears to be from earliers 1800
Movement: manual, cylinder movement, the balance wheel, probably made of gold, has a bimetallic temperature compensation arc
Case: double case, first one has the marks "GS", "925" from sterling silver, the letters "u" and "d", serial 966 and number 7
second one has the marks "GS", serial 243, "925" from sterling silver and letter "u"
Form: circular, about 50 mm diameter
Condition
The watch is in good shape mechanically, for his age, it is keeping good time, it gains about 10 minutes per day, but this can be solved by a watchmaker. The quater repeater function needs an adjusment, when the time is 8 AM, the hammers are hitting the case 7 times, one time less that should be and the sound of the hammers is not so clear, I think the ring where the hammers hit needs an adjusment. I think this can be resolved easy by a watchmaker.
In terms of cosmetic, it has some scratches on cases. It is an antique watch, not a new one.
What is strange at this watch is the fact it has the mark "d" which comes from the year 1919, but the watch is much older, appears to be made in earliers 1800. That means the case was applied later and the watch hasn't the original case. It has a key, which is inscribed "Eustace Durran Banbury watchmaker jeweler"
I think it has a protective case, which appears to be missing.
