This watch  is not a mass production of watches. Every my watch - it is a single issue or a small limited edition. We use only genuine branded mechanisms. The rest we do by hand   The watches and watch movement manufacture Lemania was founded in 1884 by Alfred Lugrin (1858-1920), who had acquired his expertise as a laborer at Jaeger-LeCoultre in Le Sentier. Because of the outstanding quality of his watch movements Lugrin received top awards and gold medals at exhibitions in 1906 in Milan and in 1914 in Bern. From the beginning he had specialized in the production of chronographs, stopwatches and repeaters.   Till the year 1930 the factory had the name to Lugrin S.A., until Lugrin's son in law Marius Meylan established the brand name Lemania Watch Co. with headquarters in L'Orient. In 1932 Lemania, Omega and Tissot joined to form the SSIH group. In close collaboration with Omega great chronograph calibres were created.   The Lemania Calibre 1873 (Omega Calibre 861) became particularly famous with the Omega Speedmaster, which in 1962 was selected by NASA for manned space flights and on 21 July 1969 accompanied Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon.   With the advent of electronic watches in the 1970s the sales of mechanical watches by the SSIH group broke in massively. In 1980 the creditor banks gave Nicolas Hayek the mandate to restructure the group. As part of a management buy-out Lemania was separated by the SSIH Group in 1981 and changed its name to Nouvelle Lemania. In 1992, Nouvelle Lemania was brought under the Groupe Horloger Breguet banner. They constructed a new manufacture in L’Abbaye in 1996.   Breguet was acquired by the Swatch Group in 1999. Over the next decade, the Lemania name was retired, with the company now called Manufacture Breguet. The company primarily produces calibres for Breguet, but many of its products are also used by other Swatch Group brands. Although Lemania's ownership by SSIH brought it very close to ASUAG, Ebauches SA, and SMH/Swatch Group, it was never part of this conglomerate or of ETA, their movement manufacturer.       ABOUT WATCHES I am happy to offer for sale this beautiful timepiece This watch  has a new stainless steel case . The wonderful new stainless steel case has been made by hand especially for this perfect mechanism. This mechanical watch is in very good working order and well-placed. Every part is checked by the watchmaker  Mechanism has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time.   The original mechanism LEMANIA is powered by a manual winding/setting crown and has  17 jewels . Overall, this great looking piece has been professionally serviced and is now in great condition.  CASE The wonderful new stainless steel case has been made especially for this perfect mechanism. Recommendations for the owner of antique watches: 1. All Antique watches are mechanical. 2. Antique watches are generally NOT waterproof. This is because waterproofing was not in general production until the middle of the 20th century for most watches. Therefore you should protect your antique watch from exposure to moisture. 3. If your watch becomes wet it should be dried off quickly. Carefully open all covers and use a hair drier to blow dry the movement, dial, covers, crown. This will reduce the amount of rust. 4. When adjusting the hands of your watch, move them in a clockwise direction only. Counter-clockwise adjustments may damage the movement. 5. If you must adjust counter-clockwise make it for small adjustments only (i.e. for minutes, NOT hours). 6. Every 2-3 years it is necessary to service and oil vintage watches. 7. To clean the case, dial and crystal you should use a cloth that does NOT leave fibers as these may get caught up in the movement. Check with your Watch repair expert to get an appropriate cloth. 8. Keep your antiques watch away from magnets. Strong magnetic fields may affect the accuracy of your watch since some vintage watches were made with iron based components in the movement. 9. Most Cases and Covers are fine components and will not handle abuse well. The watch should not be shaken, beaten, or stressed. 10. Antique watches generally experience an error of up to 5-7 minutes a day. Any accuracy of +- 5 minutes is very good.   PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BIDDING!     Please note: Vintage watches are very delicate and I package to the highest degree to prevent damage.  High altitude flights can be hard on watches due to extreme temperature changes. This can cause the oil viscosity to decrease (gum up) and prevent a watch from ticking (the balance moving freely etc.). It may need to be oiled when it arrives regardless of its recent servicing (if applicable). Although this is only a very slight possibility it can occasionally happen.  Please bear in mind that you are buying a used watches and it will require service at some point in time.
