Well here it is! A very Rare and very Desirable Illinois Bunn Special! I have not seen one on ebay in 2 or 3 years.  I got this out of a watchmaker/collectors collection. It has been in a safe for over 20 years. It has been serviced recently and keeping excellent time!   Only around 320 of the 23J sixty hour 163 Type IIE were ever produced, to date only around 60 or so are known to be out there. The serial number on this watch is 5448120 and was in the second of the two runs where the Type IIE’s were produced in 1931.  The markings that tell you it is a 163 Type IIE are: The signature “23 Jewels” is on the right side of the train bridge, the “Elinvar” marking is on the bottom edge of the balance bridge, the “Sixty Hour” marking around the small winding wheel. This watch is very clean and has all matching parts with all matching serial numbers on them. There is some very light scratches on the movement (see pictures) and the dial has what to appears to be a defect from the factory below the 12 on outer sunken rim (see pics).        Circa 1931, LS, adjusted to Temp. and 6 Positions, double roller, motor barrel, gold train, Elinvar hairspring. RR Grade/Approved, marked Grade 163 Type IIE, this is a very RARE and hard to find Illinois Bunn Special 23J Sixty Hour 163 Elinvar. It also features a mint white gold filled Model #107 Bunn Special Case, and a beautiful movement truly like new....feast your eyes on this bad boy...I did whatever I had to in order to bring this here for your viewing enjoyment...it's quite the railroad...truly museum quality...and at a great price! Very hard to find near mint 23J Sixty Hour 163 Type IIE!   Case... is a Keystone 14K white gold filled back and bezel Model #107 Case. In as close to new condition, Plain Polished Back still shines like a mirror. The #107 Case in White 14K gold fill is very hard to acquire, folks. Beautiful bow. Marked Model #107 on inside back. This was one of the original "cased at the factory" cases that these watches came in. Hamilton made all of the marked grade Bunn Specials (notice the word "Co." is deleted from the Illinois Watch markings on the movement.) You'll not find a nicer example in a case. Crystal is glass and looks Great!   Dial... is original double sunk Illinois bold arabic type dial marked Bunn Special on top with the 23J or “Flying J” and "23 Jewels Sixty Hour" above subseconds. Just about Perfect...No hairlines! One small dimple under the 12 (Probably from the factory) on the outer sunk rim is the only defect I can find. This marked 23J 60 dial is one of the rarest and hardest to find of all Illinois' dials, folks, and this one is as good as they get. Beautiful, clean, near mint, Illinois 23 Flying J 60 Dial! Original Blue hands in Great Condition!   Movement... is Illinois' famous Bunn Special 23 Jewels, Rayed Patterned, Sixty Hour. It is the Type IIE or Elinvar (for the hairspring they use), marked Elinvar on the bottom edge of the balance bridge. Also marked Adjusted Temp. and Six Positions, gold train. The movement is in near mint condition, showing a few light scratches from past servicing and/or deterioration. Red lettering still standing out as when new. Only 320 of these fine railroads were made, only around 60 to be known in circulation. Running well.   These are about gone from the marketplace, especially the finest examples such as these, no one wants to sell anything this nice, and consequently prices have skyrocketed on the top drawer examples like this one. You'll likely not ever find one of these 163 Type IIE, with Flying J Dial and Bunn Special Model #107 Case versions in this condition at all (this is the first I've seen in a long time) If you're wanting one of these for your collection, this would make an excellent choice. These Illinois mfg. by Hamilton are very special watches, sure to keep increasing in value over the years. You'll be awhile finding another this nice. I'd put this truly impressive example up against any other anywhere. If you want simply the best, then this is for you. 23 Jewels Sixty Hour Type II E 163 Elinvar with a beautiful and very scarce Model #107 Case and a near mint 23 “Flying J” 60 dial at a great price!   Good Luck bidding, any questions or wanting any other pictures before you bid please ask!      100% MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.WE WILL TAKE PAYPALS!!
