This a rare opportunity to find an Early 1700s Verge Fusee with all the extra features.  This watch is an English made Silver Repousse Pair Case measuring 55mm.  The heavily engraved Silver Champleve dial has Gold inlay highlights and the original gold Verge hands.  There is an outer dial chapter with numbers 0-60.  The name "MILLER" is on the dial. The watch has the original "Bulls Eye" glass crystal. The heavy linked chain has a hallmark on the end clasp. The silver chain is original to the watch.  There are four fobs and a winding key on the chain.  Three fobs are fancy scrolled like and the forth fob is an enameled horn object.   The verge movement has the name 'MILLER" London with the serial number 3957. The key wind and set watch winds and ticks.  The case latches and hinges work fine.  The watch has several case papers and a couple of padded felt inserts.       I purchased this from a collector who bought this watch in Denmark in the 1960s.  The case scene on the back cover is interesting.  The scene shows dancing in a party like atmosphere with what I think is a ship's mast in the background with soldiers (?). The name D. Cochin is at the bottom. The three scrolled fobs are very interesting as well.   I was told by the collector the three silver fobs indicated some type of status to the person who owned this. I wish I knew the history behind this watch.  This is a great watch.  Not your "run of the mill" fusee by any means.  Please check the photos carefully.
