Rare oval watch in Renaissance style.
Watch case is made of silver and is decorated by beautiful enamel paintings in .
It was created by the celebrated goldsmith and enameller Herman Boehm, who worked from circa 1866 until 1922.
He was known for creating magnificent enamelled objects of the highest quality in the Renaissance revival style.
He is widely recognised as one of the foremost Austrian practicioners of Revivalist goldsmith's work.
At the 1873 Vienna Exhibition, Boehm received an award for merit for his exhibits which included a " Tournament Shield and Weapons in antique style", various "galantries", and "jewelry pieces in Limoges enamel".Watch is made with great attention to the details.
For example, bow is also decorated with enamel, glass is thick and imitates crystal and it's bezel has complex profile and is beautifully engraved.The case bears hallmarks A for Vienna and HB for Herman Boehm
  Watch is equipped with verge fusee movement, signed by C. Hallifax London.
  Baille mentions C. Hallifax as author of watch from 1783, that is being kept in Metropolitan Museum of Arts.
The dial is decorated with champleve enamel.Watch is in very good condition. I cannot find any defects to the enamel.
Movement is in nice running condition.Diameter of the watch is 53mm, height is 62mm.
