The watch case is 1" diameter open face, three leaf, 18k yellow gold lapel watch. The back cover is fully engraved with leaves and a serpent surrounding a 8.5 mm boulder opal with a tiny bezel set diamond in its mouth. The markings on the inside of the cover indicates that the case was Swiss made, hallmarked with the 18k gold mark and the ladies head, 'Helvetia', the Swiss mark for 18k gold. The M & Co. mark is likely that of the casemaker, possibly Moisman & Cie (company) of Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. The edges of the case are fully engraved in bas relief. The fluted pendant and shaped gold bow sit at the twelve position attach to a gold plated gargoyle pin. The pin is unmarked. Dial: Unsigned white enameled dial with gilt Arabic hour chapter, gold and silver dotted minute ring to the outside, Louis XV style gilt fenestrated hands and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six position. Movement: A classic Swiss made, stem wound, jeweled movement with curved center wheel bridge, straight barrel wheel bridge which exposes part of the gear itself, mono-metallic balance wheel with a Swiss type regulator. (Serial #1077) Condition: Appears to be in very nice condition with no major damages, although the gilding may have worn off the hands.
