This is a very rare WW1 Military Gold Canteen Trench watch by American Waltham. The watch features a super rare waterproof 14K yellow gold case with a screw down back and hinged bowed crown guards which is a very rare combination especially in solid 14K yellow gold. The watch is stamped on the back "Patent Pending". As you can see, the case is in overall excellent condition. The watch is Circa 1918-19 with a 15 jewel "Sapphire" American Waltham movement in non-running condition. The watch needs an overhaul, It is topped with a gild metal dial with large Arabic indexes and sub-seconds with blue steel hands. These early waterproof WW1 models are extremely rare and highly sought after by military watch collectors and given the condition of this model makes it truly unique and rare. (90172)
