active in clock makers company 1691 - 1730 ~ 59 mm diameter across the smooth finished outer case ~ case closes with a snap ~ not hall marked ~ inner case with 7 knuckle hinge at the 12 is pierced & engraved around the body ~ antique louie hands with repair to the minute square ~ some small dial damage between the 45 & 50 with a small hairline between the 15 & 20 ~ enamel hand painted dial still presentable ~ beautiful early gilded movement with a verge escapement ~ the time side of the watch runs well & the full length of the chain on the fusee ~ this is a plunge pendant repeater that strikes on a bell mounted in the case rear ~ currently the watch will strike out the correct hours when pressed with the extra ding for the 1/2 1/4 sounding frequently ~ the 1/4 hour rack does not load (without help) to strike the 1/4s ~ a situation a competent watchmaker can resolve ~ boy.... if only the walls could talk.... about 300 years old & this piece of mechanical art is not all that far off of the condition it was in then, now,,, can be enjoyed as is or restored to full glory with love injection ~ hope you love it! please ask questions and resolve issues before you place your bid reserve? no reserve here! so if you like it you better place your bid now before it gets away! thanks for checking out my listing and if you are into watches please check out my other & you might want to keep a half-an-eye on my upcoming listings as i am liquidating a long time watchmaker's estate-whilst i continue to span the globe for unique and exotic items to bring to your door!
