fine 18k Charles Frodsham examined & adjusted quarter repeater

about 46 mm diameter across the case not including the slide or the off set hinges ~ weighs in complete at 3 ounces on my postal scale ~ topped off by a stiff gold bow the watch is stem wind with a pin set at the 11 ~ the watch is in good running order & kept spot on time for me over a 24 hour period ~ the watch sounds out nicely with a single strike for the hour & a double strike for each quarter hour fully passed when the slide on the case body is activated ~ the watch strikes correctly with a very nice tone from the 2 hammers & gongs ~ the watch retains a super finish all over ~ nice & clean & a high grade piece of work ~ clear glass crystal ~ original deep blued steel spade hands ~ handsome enamel dial with roman hours & arabic 5 minute numerals ~ No 10908 appears below the 12 ~ there are screws mounting the dial at the 3 & 9 ~ they look clean enough that they may be original ~ i have not taken the watch apart to check ~ the gilded movement appears quite high grade ~ retains it's sparkling finish with all the steel work bright & all the deep blued screws matching ~ wolf's teeth winding wheels ~ screwed in cap jewel settings over the escape wheel & english right angle pallet ~ gold timing screws on the split bi metallic balance wheel ~ all clean & nice ~ rear cuvette is handsomely engraved with a crown on top ~ Examd & Adjd by Charles Frodsham ~ 84 Strand ~ hall marked 18k inside the rear cover with the same number as appearing on the dial ~ 10908 ~ asides from the engine turning around the cuvette & some small detail at the front & rear perimeters the case is unadorned with a plain finish ~ a very fine quality piece of antique mechanical art produced by london's premier maker in the day ~ an outstanding timepiece certain to please the enthusiast! please ask questions and resolve issues before you place your bid reserve? no reserve here! so if you like it you better place your bid now before it gets away! thanks for checking out my listing and if you are into watches please check out my other & you might want to keep a half-an-eye on my upcoming listings as i am liquidating a long time watchmaker's estate-whilst i continue to span the globe for unique and exotic items to bring to your door!
