Hello and thank you for looking.   Up for sale is this EXTREMELY RARE jewelry box made by Audemars Piguet to hold at least 2 metal band and 5 leather band watches. The box measures 13 ½” X 8 ½” X 6”, made of light colored wood – burled and lacquered burl wood, framed with dark wood edges, a skeleton key unlocks and opens the box to reveal a dark green leather and suede lining with Audemars Piguet and AP logo; two front pull out drawers reveal molded green suede pocket watch holders and back compartments (likely for paperwork); one larger front pull out drawer features five suede watch compartments for flat or leather band watches, finished with a green felt bottom. There is also a pouch with the AP logo on it in matching green leather I believe to hold the lock key or perhaps a winder.   The box comes from the estate (with providence) by one of the worlds most renowned venture capitalists, billionaires and yachtsmen (having built the world’s largest privately owned sailing yacht, The Maltese Falcon) Thomas Perkins. Perkins was well known for his rather extensive watch collection which occupied this very box.   I have researched this box fairly thoroughly and have not found anything like it.
