This auction is for a very nice boxed, Boley & Leinen watchmaker’s lathe with lots of accessories. Boley & Leinen are thought by many to be the best of the German watchmaker tools manufacturers of the era. This set includes:Original box in good conditionIndexed headstock with drawbar which rotates smoothly and which has no discernible playFlip over graver restTailstock and centre runnerBed with little sign of heavy usageFoot (often missing)Offset runner, cone plate, centring runner & drilling runner for repivoting workTailstoch drilling runner with 3 brass collets and a drawbar10 collets in good condition and all inscribed Boley & Leinen (nos 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20, 24)Safety carrier + centresWax chuckStep chucksOverall the finish on the headstock, tailstock and bed is very good with minimal flaking or tarnish as can be seen from the pictures. The foot has a little more tarnish and flaking.This would be an ideal purchase for someone who wants a really good quality watchmaker lathe with more than the basic range of extras and which has the accessories included needed to do practical repairs on watches.
