An antique solid 18 carat gold Invicta 'Répétítion' quarter repeating pocket watch, inscribed to the inner case 'Ricordo Della Tripolitania E Del Governatore 1913-1914' (Memory of the Governor of Tripolitania 1913-1914). Housed in its fitted box, retailed by Gillio Casini, Rome. The Governor of Tripolitania between 1913-1914 was the Italian General Vincenzo Garioni. Tripolitania (Tripoli) was an Italian colony, located in present-day western Libya. It was part of the Italian North African territory conquered from the Ottoman Empire in 1911 during the Campagna di Libia (Libyan Campaign).

An intriguing, wonderful quality & extremely collectible antique pocket watch!
CONDITION: All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear & some shallow denting to case commensurate with age and use. Winds & appears to go well / strike properly. May benefit from a clean & service. DEFECTS: None. DATE/MARKS: Around 1910. Dial marked 'Invicta', case signed 'Invicta Répétítion'. Case stamped 'K18' & numbered 88298. DIMENSIONS: Case 56 mm diameter (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter. WEIGHT: Approx. 116.5 grams unboxed.
