I am please to offer from my private collection this important historical MUSEUM ONE OF A KIND Observatory approved 1/4 Jump Seconds ,31 jewels ,two-train Chronometer ,independent seconds hand Chronograph by H.Montandon c1880's in MINT CONDITION!ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE WATCH! This is a very special pocket watch with extremely interesting mystic history!
This was the personal watch of Mr.Aleister Crowley.
(he was an English , , , and . He founded the religion of , identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the in the early 20th century. In 1898 he joined the esoteric , where he was trained in ceremonial magic by . The watch originally belonged to Samuel Mathers,but he presented the watch to his best student).The watch has a massive silver full hunter case. The front case is decorated with the Gold Ouroboros or Eternal Snake (The ouroboros or oroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail).
In the middle of the Ouroboros is depicted the Skull,decorated with large diamonds in its eyes.There are also 4 large diamonds in the 4 corner representing the 4 directions of the world.There are ruby precious stones in the snake's eyes.On the rear case is hand engraved the famous Hermetic Tenth Key from the Twelve Keys of Basil Valentine.
All Twelve Keys should open the door of wisdom and find the phylosopher's stone.The Basil Valentine's Tractat, under the subtitle "The Twelve Keys", contains twelve short chapters. Each chapter, or "key", is an allegorical description of one step in the process by which the may be created. With each step, the symbolic names (Deckname, or code name) used to indicate the critical ingredients are changed, just as the ingredients themselves are transformed. The keys are written in such a fashion as to conceal as well as to illuminate: only a knowledgeable reader or alchemical adept was expected to correctly interpret the veiled language of the allegorical text and its related images.Around a downward pointing radiant triangle are the words "NATVS SVM EX HERMOGENE." (top: I am born from Hermogenes), "HYPERION ELEGIT ME." (right side descending: Hyperion elected me.), and "ABSQ IAMSVPH COGOR INTERIRE." (left side, ascending: Without Iamsoph I am destined to perish.) Inside the vertices of the triangle are the symbols of the Sun on the left, the Moon on the right and Mercury at the bottom, with Hebrew lettering. Within the triangle is a double radiant circle inside of which are written Hebrew letters.The watch has an amazing 31 jewels complicated movement! The watch is OBSERVATORY APPROVED CHRONOMETER,tested in the Geneve Observatory!!! It is signed on the cuvette "Observation time piece".
Very special two train movement,independent second hand which can be used as a minute chronograph-on the side of the case there is a button-when pressed it stops the central hand and the 1/4 small seconds hand,so it can measure extreme precision till 1/4 from the second!(watch the Video below).
