Astonishing 18th C Imperial Russian Cathrine II award silver Verge Fusee Oignon pocket watch ,made by the famous French watch master Antoine Galiard a Besancon.The watch has a very interesting history. It has been awarded by the Imperial Russian Empress Cathrine II to her personal Life Guard the Hussar Officer Alexander Alexandrovich Bibikov.The watch is one of a kind.It has a plain silver case,hand engraved with the Cathrine II personal cypher EII,beneath the royal crown.Around the cipher is written"Vivat Catharina,Vivat Hussar".The watch has a superb fire gild verge fusee full plate movement,signed,hand pierced balance cock,old style Tompion silver regulator disc,Thomas Earnshow style square pillars,fancy side decorations,ruby end stone on balance.Fine porcelain dial with gold hands.Original high domed glass.All the parts original.Nothing has been ever changed or replaced or repaired in this watch!A real museum piece.Perfect working order for its age. A matching key included.48mm in diameter.
