Offered for sale today is a rare and magnificent 18K yellow gold Magellan Ref. 1521 Northern Hemisphere map designed globe mens watch. Of exceptionally high Swiss made quality, this is a rare, stunning and low production item that is only produced in a numbered series. It is in excellent original condition with the original strap, deployant buckle and includes the original inner wooden lacquered and outer boxes w/out papers. It is exquisitely and entirely crafted in 18K/750 solid yellow gold and features a hand fitted automatic self winding Magellan Cal. 2893-2 automatic movement with patented integrated 18K yellow gold crown. The original condition of this item can only be described as outstanding with only very slight wear to the original strap and superb metal, buckle, crystal, hands, crown, caseback & dial. It is featured here w/ a beautiful Mother of Pearl dial w/ domed, globe shaped map of the northern hemisphere w/ colored continents, black printed latitude degrees, dot index markers and curved black baton & red sweep seconds hand. The case dimensions are 43mm. The solid 18K yellow gold case back bears the appropriate Magellan hallmarks inside and out and is numbered No. 0017 respectively. As evidenced by the photos, this watch was very well cared for and very sparingly worn. It is paired to its excellent original black alligator strap and buckle. Case, crown, dial, bracelet and movement signed. The quality of the metal on this watch is superb, it is an undisturbed, unmolested original example in excellent condition. It has recently been CW21 serviced and keeps very accurate time, the movement is immaculate, engages smoothly and runs flawlessly. Will fit up to an 8" wrist.
