Superb Gentleman's, original Waltham U.S.A., 7 jewel pocket watch with beautiful porcelain dial and a highly polished, 9 carat solid rose gold half hunter Dennison case. Looks to have been much loved and very well cared for and its condition certainly reflects this.Full working order and is an excellent timekeeper. Fully checked and is guaranteed to be 100% authentic - a timepiece to grace any collection! DIAL High gloss, pale ivory (almost white) porcelain dial in very near mint condition. Signed clearly in a black very fancy script; Waltham U.S.A (denoting that this watch was made for the export market - usually the United Kingdom). Very bold black Roman numerals with black minute markers , Recessed sub dial with black Arabic numbers and black seconds chapters.Finely cut, original, bright blued steel, double spade and whip hands (so allowing for an easy time check through the outer crystal) and original blued steel arrow tip seconds hand all in lovely straight order. Glass is in great condition with no visible scratches. CASE The highly polished (5cm diameter /7cm from top of bow to base), 9 carat rose gold, half hunter case is heavy (has a pleasing solid feel in the hand and total watch weight is a heavy 99 grams), robust and in great condition - absolutely no wear, just one tiny indentation to back cover so small are not showing up well in the photographs. Overall very light and fine little micro surface scratches caused by carrying the watch in a pocket. The front cover opens crisply and correctly and clicks shut tightly. The front outer case carries jet black Roman numerals which are in superb condition with no enamel loss to either the numbers or inner and outer chapter rings.The back cover and dust cover again open correctly, closing tightly with a very reassuring click and all three large hinges are true and firm with absolutely no play. The inside of the front cover is numbered 204298 and shows more hallmark stamps.The inside of the back cover is stamped with the full Birmingham assay mark which dates the watch back to 1920-21. MOVEMENT;- The Waltham U.S.A., stem wound and set, 7 ruby jewelled, 3/4 plate, lever movement is in superb bright and clean order and keeps time accurately. Stamped clearly on the top plates in bold, arched, black Gothic script; American Waltham, U.S.A Tempus, and is clearly numbered (again in black); 21775099.Winds extremely smoothly and fully, hand set operates smoothly and correctly - the pull-up action is very firm and true. Lovely, totally unworn, large gold filled 'onion' crown. OVERALL A very handsome and highly impressive Gentleman's Waltham half hunter timepiece which was much loved and proudly worn and has been a loyal servant all of her 96 years. Will be delivered in a lovely vintage presentation/display box and be very securely and safely packed.
