E. HOWARD WATCH Co. BOSTON 14K SOLID GOLD HUNTING CASE POCKET WATCH, SERVICED! Edward Howard was a giant in the early part of American watchmaking. Having been directly involved with the operation of several watchmaking firms, he oversaw some of the greatest advancements to watchmaking the industry has ever seen until that time. The Keystone Watch Case Company had obtained the rights to the Edward Howard name in 1902 and continued to produce quality watches under the "E. Howard Watch Co. Boston U.S.A." name until 1930, thus continuing and expanding this iconic brand. This fine timepiece is a remarkable example of an E. Howard Watch Co. Boston U.S.A. series 3 pocket watch that is housed in a superb yellow 14 karat solid gold case. The watch has been extremely well preserved and is in near mint condition showing little signs of use with crisp engine turned covers, Jurgenson lips and an inner dust cover signed "E. HOWARD WATCH Co. BOSTON." and expertly hand engraved "J.A. Detrveiler Palmyra. Pa.". The dial is made of white porcelain enamel and is finely detailed with elegant Roman numeral hour marks accompanied by red arabic numerals marking every 5 minutes around the outer edge of the dial and denoting every 10 seconds around the sub-second dial. All three steel hands are tempered to a wine color and are protected by a glass crystal placing the finishing touch on the handsome and refined appearance of this watch! The well made mechanism is decorated with circular damascening and is equipped with 17 jewels, many of which are mounted in gold settings, and the center wheel and balance screws are also made of solid gold! The watch is marked "Adjusted" and had been fully dissembled and serviced by our certified watchmaker to ensure accurate timekeeping and that all of its functions are working properly. Make: E.
