rare vintage diver's Certina DS-3 PH-1000. Full length is 47,5mm. Thickness is 18,37mm. It is 20mm wide between the lugs. Certina is a Swiss brand of watches founded in 1888 by the Kurth brothers. For those of you wishing to know more about Certinas I strongly suggest the very informative website about vintage certinas, www.vintagecertinas.ch Specifics of this model: 3 - The watch was at the top of the Certina diver's watches. This was a technical watch, not a simple waterproof watch. It was the culmination of Certina efforts in producing diver's watches. 4 - The watch has an oversize barrel shaped stainless steel case, with a stainless steel screw case back. The design of the case is quintessential sixties. 5 - Matt black dial 6 - Certina caliber 919-1, designed and built in house by Certina. The bracelet: brand new nylon bracelet The reference number outside the case: 919130141 The watch is signed Certina: in the dial, in the case and in the movement cosmetics: dial: The original dial is in excellent condition - see the pictures and make your own opinion. hands: the hands are in excellent condition. The minutes hand has lost some of its luminous material - see the pictures and make your own opinion. case: Shows some wear, light bumps, a couple of dents, no ugly scratches. a visible crack. Keeps its edges sharp - see the pictures and make your own opinion. Movement: very nice condition! - see the pictures and make your own opinion. The crystal: is mineral glass and was replaced by the previous owner - see the pictures and make your own opinion. The crown: The crown is in very good condition, albeit having two small scr only small signs of wear - see the pictures and make your own opinion. Inside the watch: Swiss made, high end automatic wind 25 jewels, caliber Certina 919-1, with hack seconds Service history: 1 - The watchmaker that checked the watch found that the oils had dried. Consequently the watch was subject to a full service of the movement (cleaning, lubrication and adjusting) by a trusted watchmaker in October of 2016. For those of you who might not know what a C.L.A. job means, it involves the disassembling of the watch mechanism and having it cleaned in a specific machine with special liquids to remove dry oil and dirt. Afterwards the movement is lubricated with the proper oils and adjusted after being tested in a vibrograf machine. In practical terms it means that you can use the watch every day without fear that the lack of lubrication wears the movement pieces. 2 - The crystal was replaced before. 3 - The crown is unmarked, so I suppose it is a replacement. Working condition: 1 - Working very well 2 - smooth winding 3 - starts upon winding, there is no need to shake it. 4 - Runs strong. 5 - Time setting is smooth 6 - Date changing is OK 7 - The diving scale is supposed to work anti clockwise, but in fact in some positions it rotates clockwise as well. The range it rotates clockwise is not always the same, usually from 2 to twelve minutes. To get you a clearer picture of how the watch will behave, I do the following home testing: I manually wind the watch, even if the watch has automatic wind, and test it against a watch that I know is correct. For this I purpose I use a web page that provides the exact time. I check the deviation after 12 and 24 hours. The results for this watch after 12 hours: -02s After 24 hours: -06 seconds Sold as is Please note: 1 - The watch should not be used in the water!
