Stunningly beautiful D. Dornblüth & Sohn Caliber 99.3 wristwatch. Solid 18kt/750 polished and burnished rose gold case; solid 18kt/750 polished rose gold deployant clasp with 'Dornblüth' engraving; sterling silver dial with grained matte finish and applied numbers; heat-blued steel hands; Dornblüth alligator strap.Minutes/seconds/date/power reserve. The distinctive optional Quattro-Arret feature allows the second hand to be stopped precisely on any quarter interval. For example, if the stem is pulled out as the second hand is passing, say, 7 seconds, it will continue until it stops on the 15 second mark; if the stem is pulled out when the second hand is passing, say, 33 seconds, it will keep running until it stops on the 45 second mark. To stop the watch at zero seconds, you just have to pull the stem out somewhere between 46 and 59 seconds. I hope that's clear . . . it seems pretty straightforward to me, but every time I try to explain it I seem to confuse people. The date is set by pressing a small, slightly depressed, button located next to the winding stem at the 2 o'clock position (you can see it clearly in one of the photographs), with a tiny, beautifully machined, stylus.
A wonderful, elegant, artisan-designed-and-built watch with an in-house built movement. In absolutely, unequivocally, like-new condition. Delivery times for these watches can sometimes be a year or much longer. If you've admired Dirk's work, but have been put off by the cost and the wait, this is a somewhat unusual opportunity to acquire something other than an off-the-shelf example.
