51.7 mm diameter across the enamel dial with hand painted roman numerals ~ signed cht moricand ~ excellent overall condition ~ writing on the front should wipe right off ~ circa 1800 or so the movement is incomplete so it is offered for parts or restoration as it is a somewhat scare beast ~ not only was this set up to tell the time but it has a quarter repeater function as well as it being a clock watch that will sound out on the passing of the hour ~ there is a lever at the edge to activate this function ~ the platter type music disc sounds off the 25 tuned steel tines ~ the music plays but needs to be regulated as it runs to fast ~ the movement has a nice gilded finish & would clean up nice ~ missing some parts but most of it is here ~ it's a complicated scarce movement that will hopefully find it's way into some hands that will bring it back to it's former running beauty ~ yours? please ask questions and resolve issues before you place your bid reserve? no reserve here! so if you like it you better place your bid now before it gets away! thanks for checking out my listing and if you are into watches please check out my other offerings & you might want to keep a half-an-eye on my upcoming listings as i am liquidating a long time watchmaker's estate-whilst i continue to span the globe for unique and exotic items to bring to your door!
