Founded in 1888 in Switzerland, the Le Phere watch company was known for its high quality, complicated watch movements. "Indeed from as early as 1889 its watches were rewarded by the most imminent prizes: Gold medal at the National Exhibition of 1896 in Geneva and also in1889 at the Great Universal Exhibition in Paris". This watch was made circa 1890-1900 and retailed by the world famous Tiffany of New York. The case is large (56mm), and has two very minor,very small dings.The white enamel dial is perfect, with fancy gold hands. The high grade movement is very clean and contains a high number of jewels (32). Repeater and chronograph work perfect and the chimes ring loud and clear. The watch keeps very good time. All hinges are tight and the watch opens and closes perfectly. This watch is large and heavy (127 grams), and is in excellent overall condition! Shipping includes insurance and tracking.
