Appleton Tracy & Co. grade American Waltham model 1857, style B, 18s, 16 jewel pocket watch in excellent vintage condition. Serial number 5299 dates this pocket watch to 1857. Key wind, key set with original winding key and leather fob included. Full hunter case is hallmarked AMWATCHCO.WALTHAMMASS. WARRANTED COIN SILVER. It does show some signs of wear considering the age. The movement is clean, all hinges and covers function and fit as they should. Movement is a Gilt finish model 1857 style B. Very nice quality well made time piece from Civil War era. American Watch Co. Waltham Appleton Tracy grade was top of the line in 1857. Case and dial show normal patina for a vintage time piece of this age 160 years old. This civil war era Appleton Tracy pocket watch winds, sets and runs with no issues. The craftsmanship of the engraving is exquisite.
