Here's a very scarce 2 Star 16 size 23 jewel Illinois Interstate Chronometer made for Searsback in 1911. This is a Sangamo grade model 4. According to the Illinois blue bookthere were only 200 of them ever produced. The original signed double sunk porcelaindial has a repair on the sink near 10 and varying hairlines. There are a very nice set of bluedsteel open moon style hands. It also has a good glass crystal. The serial number is 2331053and the 2 tone movement features the moon click which makes for a very pleasant winding.It is lever set. It winds up and runs strong and it keeps as accurate of time that you wouldexpect a 105 year old watch to keep. The case is a 25 year gold filled South Bend hunterin fabulous condition. There is slight evidence of having housed another movement.The covers and hinges are all tight as well as the antique bow. All functions of the caseare proper. The Illinois book of 1983 valued the piece between $1250 & $15000.
