This beautiful estate heirloom 14K YELLOW GOLD ELGIN 18 size lever-setting pocket watch was made in 1889 and engraved for a presentation in 1899 – gifted to “L W Price 1899”. The watch is beautiful with fully developed Victorian etching to both covers – the front cover has a large center cartouche that is uninscribed – the back cover is even more detailed with a complex village scene in a center roundel surrounded with florals and swags – the dedication is on the dust cover. The inside back cover is signed WARRANTED 14K U.S. ASSAY and BWCCo. The enamel dial with 19th Century Roman Numerals is superb – I see no lines or flaws of any sort, elegant, slender spade hands and countersunk seconds dial complete the classic look. The dial is a large white field and both the numerals and hands are slender and reserved – an exceptionally clean, uncluttered and rich looking dial. As to the G M Wheeler signed movement, it is not running and will need attention – the balance is likely bad. The clean movement with modest damaskeening is serial number 3957499, signed Elgin and G M Wheeler in attractive script. This 14K GOLD 19th Century watch weighs 128.3 grams – there are no dings or dents to mention. The diameter is 53mm. – Out of a Pennsylvania estate – buyer pays 12.95 safe bubble shipping, Insurance and tracking in USA
