This is a stunning example of a Landeron 47 3 button chronograph in solid 18K gold case.
New Old Stock, never worn! The Landeron 47 movement (the world’s first cam operated chronograph) was only produced in 1937. Less than 20,000 were made. Most of the L47 movements were built into military and pilots chronos. A solid gold one will certainly not turn up very soon let alone one which is unworn and New Old Stock! There is little reference material for this watch. The dial is unsigned, as is the movement. But the three button chronograph design gives it away as a Landeron 47 – the top button starts the stopwatch, the bottom button pauses it, and the button inset into the crown resets to zero regardless of whether the chrono is running or paused. Size: Approximately 34 mm without crown or 38mm wide including the crown, 11mm thick. Takes an 18mm strap. Important note: New Old Stock watch was never used or worn or even wound up. If you want to use this watch it must be primed first. It requires disassembly and lubrication. Some collectors would prefer to leave this watch as is. If required we can have the watch primed and adjusted for an additional 75 dollars.
