DESCRIPTION For Your Consideration 14 K DOUBLE HALF DEMI HUNTER
POCKET WATCH
& 28" 14K CHAIN Double Hunter Pocket Watch
A double hunter is like a normal hunter, but its case opens at both the front and the back, making the watch and the workings of the watch visible to the wearer The Half-Hunter Pocket Watch
The full blown hunter pocket pocket should not be confused with the half-hunter, which is a related but distinctly different style. The half-hunter shares the metal clamshell case design, but the difference lies with the circular aperture in the center of the cover. This opening is about the size of a pound coin, or a little larger. The aperture on the half-hunter pocket watch allows the wearer to see the central part of the watch face, and thus read the time without needing to open the cover. Engraved around the rim of the aperture are the same numerals that appear on the watch face beneath the cover.

A major attraction was that it was much thinner than the verge, allowing watches to be made fashionably slim. Clockmakers found it suffered from excessive wear, so it was not much used during the 18th century, except in a few high-end watches with the cylinders made from . ** Please examine the photos - they are part of my description.
This watch is in excellent condition - the only point I wish to note is there is a small mark on the watch face, it is not a crack in the crystal, it is inside on the face. The mark does not go all the way across the face. I have examined it and I personally do not feel it is a crack as I can feel nothing when I run my finger across it. It is very fine, I almost didn't see it. Please examine it for yourself before purchasing. You can call or text us with any questions (352) 610-0261 PREVIOUSLY - OWNED
