This is a very fancy and early man’s Ulysse Nardin watch. The hunter case measures 51mm in diameter. The watch weighs 120.3 grams. The case lids and inner back are well marked with Ulysse Nardin, 18k gold marks, and watch details. The outside of the case is chased with ornate designs. Best of all, the case has no dents or monograms. The hinges are excellent, and so are the case springs. the dial is awesome. It is silver with applied solid gold designs. The dial center has gold birds and florals in repousse. A really great original dial. Nice blued steel hands. the movement is stem wind, push set, and very unusual. The movement is gilt nickel, lever escapement, 13 jewels, and carries the early serial #4865. The movement is much different looking than the later Nardin movements I have seen. This one has a raised area on the top plate over the motor barrel. I do not know if this means that the motor barrel is special in some way or not. But the movement is running. It runs strong, but has not been cleaned or serviced. So, I cannot guarantee it to be a reliable timekeeper. Based on the design of the case and dial, I would guess that this watch was made for export to the South American market. Buyer pays shipping, $25 in USA.
