Up for sale is this amazing Eska $20 US Gold Coin Watch. In the middle of the last century, many watch manufacturers, such a Corum, were building watches inside a coin coin. This is Eska’s entry into that category. Eska is a Swiss company founded in the 1910s and made some very nice watches (Eska is the phoenetic pronuncuation of the founder’s initials S.K.).Inside of this real 1904 US Gold Double Eagle (which is 22k or 90% pure) Eska added this hidden gem… a beautiful timepiece. On the outside, the watch looks like the gold coin (which it is!) and then when a secret button is pushed, the front of the coin pops open and revels a manual wind, Swiss movement watch. The watch can be viewed while it is recessed inside the coin, or it can be pulled out on its hinge and set on the desk. What makes this one rare is that it is the pocket watch version. There is a much more common wrist watch version (which had traditional watch lugs and a strap), there is a pendant version (which has a loop on one side to be attached to a chain) and then there is this version. It looks exactly like Corum’s version of the same watch (and the Corums sell for a LOT more). This watch is is excellent shape with one light surface wear. It was kept inside the leather case almost all of the time, so the condition is really good. The secret button, the spring, and the hinge (the parts that open) are all working well. The watch is also working well and looks great. It is running strong, but I’m nit sure when it was last serviced. The dial looks great with a 12 o’clock arabic numeral and markers for the rest of the hours. The back of the watch is marked 18kt (this is for the watch part as the coin part if 22kt). There are two small marks on the dial just above and below the center post. This watch is amazing, and this version is rare. It comes with the original leather case to keep it protected. You can carry it in your pocket, or set it on your desk. This watch mainly kept in the safe for years and years, which is why is looks so good. Please email with questions. Buyer to pay $20 shipping in the USA or $60 for worldwide shipping (I use eBay Global Shipping which means that I ship the watch to eBay here in the US and they send internationally from there). There are no returns on this one. Thanks for looking.
