Up down venus 170 movement that has been re built, serviced and timed. The case back is signed TP (Trade Pattern) and the 1/5 denotes the watch is capable of recording intervals of 1 5th of a second. these watches were also used by Artillery groups for ranging. The watch comes on a vintage cotton Kahki strap matched to the period not the Nato I used to shoot the watch but it looks very similar, and as usual it comes in a vintage linen backed ATG box. This is a very interesting piece of history that has been documented in several military watch books, Reference from Military Timepieces by Z. M. Wesolowski which as a picture of this watch and it is also found in 'British Military Timepieces' by Konrad Knirim . It is rare to find a British military war time chronograph as the British largely issued Pocket Timers to go with a wrist watch so this is a very rare piece with good provenance.
The watch has been serviced and carries a 3 month mechanical warranty.
Due to their age and the original use of these watches there are minor marks to be found on the cases
which add to their vintage look without detracting from the quality, view the pictures for clarification.
ATG Vintage Watches give no waterproof guarantee or even splash proof, these watches are from a time before any idea of a fully waterproof watch.
