Bovet was founded in 1822 by Swiss watchmaker, Édouard Bovet. Bovet chronographs were sold by Bovet Freres in the early 1940s and by Favre-Leuba from 1948 to 1950. Most Bovet of this era utilized the Valjoux 84 lever movement with stem wind, but they were also known to use the Valjoux 77. The watch offered here today is an Valjoux 77 chronograph. Featuring a black, gilt dial, this watch is beautiful. Chrome plated case with some wear. Watch winds up and keeps time, the sub seconds work, though the chronograph seconds (red hand), and register up top (minutes) are not advancing. Uncommon case at 35mm. Watch is fitted with a brand new Hadley Roma leather band. Serial number on this watch is 999796.
