This automatic mechanical watch was issued to honor the 1987 100th anniversary of Eberhard & Co, one of the leading brands in Europe and especially in Italy. The watch is an automatic winding water-resistant chronograph with a full calendar in a stainless steel case and bezel. The pusher at 2:00PM position starts and stops the chronograph, and the pusher at 4:00 PM resets the red chrono seconds accumulating hand. The watch has a Marignan screw-down crown (with 18 K gold ornaments providing a gripping surface), and a back held in place by screws for water resistance to three atmospheres. The face of the watch is mat black, with gold tone applied hour markers (no numerals) with three sub-registers at the 6, 9, and 12. The sub-register at 12:00 PM contains the day and month display in two windows to the left and right of center, and  a thirty minute register. The sub-register at 6:00PM is the 12 hour register, and the sub-register at 9:00PM reflects the AM/PM 24 hour display and a small second hand. The date is displayed by crescent-tipped red hand which points to a date in the outermost surround on the dial. To set the date, the pusher at 10:00 AM is used. To set the name of the day and month, the crown is used by moving it to one of three positions. Altogether, there are eight hands used by this combination calendar and chronograph watch, including the two time telling hands. The leather band is a high quality black leather original signature Eberhard, 20 mm at the lugs, and shows little sign of use, as does the watch itself. An E&C stainless steel tang buckle is fitted to the band. The watch uses high-tension heat resistant (H-T) glass. The original signature Eberhard box is included, as is the operating manual and original guarantee issued in June 1983. This watch runs perfectly, and all timing functions, including the chronograph pushers and settings, are operating as they should. The degree of water resistance was originally guaranteed to 3 atm. (about 45 psi) by the manufacturer, but has not been checked. This is a medium sized watch, with a case diameter of 35mm (39 mm including crown) and is in excellent condition, as is the original band. It is also quite rare as an uncommon dress watch with an unusual set of "complications".
