This is a Ball Chronograph.Ball Chronograph with Garland dial.
inner case signed Ball
Movement signed Ball.Same Ball company that made great pocket watches for the Railroad companies. and very famous for the Trainmaster wristwatch, made small amount of chronographs with some Garland dials, their jewelry line, and Ball dials. But the case and movement and watch are all Ball and by Ball. Valjoux 22. Oversize CaseCase is all Stainless steel with awesome ribbed long extended lugs.
Solid quality case.
Patina original dial. The Watch works, and was Recently Serviced. Since it is still a vintage watch and over 75 years old quartz perfection can not be expected. The collectors who sought after Ball pocket watches will realize what a gem and rarity it is to find a Ball Chronograph from the 1940's. I have only seen one other one sold by Randall Ball's Friend who inherited that i bought a few ball watches i will list later. that one sold over 5 years ago. i have yet to see another one. I know only another one at the Ball Museum with a Ball dial, a prototype.
This Chronograph that i am selling was most likely gifted to someone working for Ball Company or released in the small batch of Chronographs in the 1940's.
Ball never made Chronographs again until the 2000's I can not emphasize how rare this watch really is, much rarer than any Doxa valjoux 22 or any Heuer 22 or 23. There is no other case design like it on any watch forum or ebay, their is no other watch like it or Vintage Ball Chronograph anywhere on the web or watch forums. A true icon of a watch. The dial and case are very Reminiscent of the same era Longines Chronograph. The watch measures a hefty
44 mm up and down
and 39mm side to side.
Which is large for 1940's watch. The watch comes with a light chocolate brown crocodile band. I ship international. $35-$75
