I am please to offer from my private collection this MUSEUM solid silver case French Verge Fusee Doctor's Skull shaped Memento Mori pocket watch&matching long silver chain fob c1807. MUSEUM mint condition! PERFECT WORKING ORDER! The watch has a top grade fire gild full plate verge fusee movement with hand pierced balance cock. Fine enamel dial in mint condition. On the skull head is engraved the Latin Motto "HODIE MIHI CRAS TIBI"(Translate:Today it's me, tomorrow it will be you.Inscription that can be seen on tombstones dating from the Middle Ages, meant to outline the ephemerality of life), plus the year 1807. The watch is 44mm ,39mm thick. 144g heavy together with the chain.
