AMERICAN WALTHAM WATCH Co. 18s POCKET WATCH Circa - 1897 = 120 years young! ** A GREAT COLLECTABLE AMERICAN TIME PIECE! **A very unique high grade American Waltham Watch Co. Pocket Watch that was made in 1897.This watch is a rarity in nature as it is from the very first run of Model 1892 17 jewelAppleton Tracy & Co Hunters. There were only 490 in total in the first run and this is the 29th one made!The watch retains it's original and correct early Model 1892 two line scripted signature double sunk dial which are only found on the very early Waltham model 1892 watches.A lot of these early dials are damaged or have been replaced, this dial is original and in GREAT condition! NO HAIRLINES or NIBBLES!The movement has a stunning demaskeened nickel pattern with solid gold balance screws and solid gold jewel settings. The movement has beautiful ruby jewels as well, such an amazing finished movement.The material this was made in was classed as "P" in the database which is the higheststandard material.This is a very high grade piece and it is rare in nature due to it's production order.The movement is a model 1892 hunter and is stem wind and lever set,and itself is in outstanding condition, the plates are near perfect as you can see.The 10k case is a sensational looking solid gold box hinge hunters piece.As you can see most of the fancy detail can still be easily seen which is great.The case does show slight wear and a couple of very small dings, howeveras you can see overall from the images it is a very impressive piece.The hinges are tight and the lids do not open past 90 degrees which is a great sign the case has not been abused.The front lid springs open very well and the bow is firm.The case was made by the Brooklyn Watch Case Company before there were case trademarking standards so the case is marked with an Eagle and an 18 with BWCCo.These cases are well known in Horological circles as 10k Solid Gold cases.The watch runs very well and the hands set smoothly.Total weight is a heavy 131.9 grams.NOTE: This watch has been advertised elsewhere and may be removed at any time.As they say, You snooze you loose.Please read description and Item Specifics carefully and view all photos before bidding or buyingPhotos form part of the descriptionI have described to the best of my ability and happy to answer any questions you may have?International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
