SUMMARY:
A mint condition solid silver Swiss early 19th century highly engraved verge chain driven fusee pocket watch, in a very rare miniature size. The watch has been fully serviced and overhauled by my watch maker, and is keeping good verge time. The movement with fine round ballustar pillars and equally superbly made gold hands. The watch is very handsome piece indeed and further complimented by a very fine condition cases. The watch is best described as a time-capsule from the early 19th century in simply stunning condition, dating from ca. 1800. The watch is in full working order and comes complete with a key for winding, and presentation box. The buy it now price is a clear reflection of the incredible rarity, stunning condition and long-term investment for this watch. Sunday by appointmentTel: 0759 830 1277 THE DIAL: 100% mint, the off-white enamel dial with fine black Roman numerals, and a separate minute track to outside of dial and small quarter hour markers. The bright enamel dial with no hairlines or chips. The dial with blue steel hour hand only, it is not possible to fit a minute hand. The domed glass in very fine and bright condition. Diameter is 26 mm. THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with richly gilded full plate in wonderful condition. The well engraved and carved rococo style balance double footed cock and foot in superb condition with foliage and flowers and grotesque mask to base. The back plate with further decoration and Bosely time regulator plate. An uncut three arm steel balance, verge escapement with flat hairspring and fusee and chain. The watch is keywind, comes with a key and is ticking very strongly indeed. The movement with round ballustar pillars, measures 24 mm. Polished steel movement bolt with its original blued steel screw. Pierced gilded fusee stop work with iron hinge. The movement with several high quality features. These consist of the fusee ratchet on the outside of the fusee, the mainspring set up is under the dial via a ratchet. The finely blued screws are original, the fusee stop is ornate and the gilding/engraving is still bright and fresh. The watch comes with a watch key and the watch runs the full length of the fusee chain. The watch is much brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equiment. THE CASE: 100% mint, the solid silver consular case measures 32 mm outside diameter. The hinged cover closing tightly, and all in fine order. The three knuckle hinge in good order. The cases with matching Swiss hall-marks, case maker marks and silver sterling marks. The pendant is very well made as is the bow. This is a high quality pocket watch, a work of art in its own right in crisp condition and of jewel like quality. The pictures show minor reflections and various dark marks, these are an artefact from the lighting and are not present in the watch case. This is a very fine Victorian period antique in simply stunning condition, which is a very rare collectable item or a possible investment for the future or of course a fine gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc. TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
