This is a WOW watch!! Every time I wear it, someone says, "Wow, that is cool! " That in itself is awesome, but this watch is truly worthy of the attention! First of all, the Hydro-Sub is a SERIOUS dive watch. 500m water resistant, sapphire crystal, solid as a rock all over. It is a "re-edition" of the 1960's Hydro-Sub, updated for 21st century wearers. The 46mm case sounds ominous, but the design is incredible, and makes for a truly comfortable, easy to wear tool. The case flares upward from the caseback, making it ride nicely on the wrist and eliminate the "dig" caused by a lot of oversized dive watch behemoths. Finishing is just gorgeous-- just the right amount of polished surfaces to add some eye appeal, but not detract from the tool watch idea of a 500m diver. One design piece I truly love is the polished, 16 sided inner ring of the bezel. Very subtle, but adds so much dimension. The bracelet is ultra-well constructed, with a fully brushed finish, and features a single fold deployant clasp with a slide out diver's extension, one of my favorites features on ANY dive watch. There is no rattle or shake on this bracelet. Everything is solid, secure, tight, and you can feel the quality! Also included is an exceptionally nice rubber strap with signed deployant clasp. The strap is very well made, clasp is solid and secure, and best of all, the strap is a NO CUT design. Dial is stunning-- a deep blue that fades to black at the outer edges, with luminous hands and hour markers that glow exceptionally well. The green second hand is cool, and makes for really terrific legibility. And the elephant in the room-- the crown guard. I must admit that I was leery of this when I originally bought the watch. I've had too many bad experiences with over designed crown guards put on a watch only for aesthetics. Not this guy! Solid and secure, no rattle, and besides the functionality, it looks really terrific on the watch. This was well designed and well thought out, and actually contributes to the tool watch functionality. Movement is the Edox Caliber 80A based on an the Sellita SW200, a solid, workhorse movement. It is running perfectly, keeping COSC spec time. The caseback is beautiful. Not a reason I buy a watch, but something I really appreciate when it's well done. Featuring a northern projection with the North Pole marked in orange. This, combined with the N Pole (North Pole) on the dial refers to Austrian diver Christian Redl who did a free dive under the North Pole ice with, you've guessed it already, an Edox Hydro-Sub on his wrist. The watch is packaged in an incredibly large and well made zippered box with all of the goodies inside. Just a box, but a great presentation, with tool to change strap to bracelet, extra springbars, etc. Issued in a Limited edition of 515 watches, this one is number 429 as engraved on the 9 o'clock case side. Overall 97% condition, worn a couple of times only. Rubber strap is unused. MSRP is 2500 Euro, or around $2800 bucks. Not a bad price for a watch this well constructed and designed.PICS SHOW CONDITION VERY WELL. You would be hard pressed to find this watch in better pre-owned condition!
