Jacques Gevril was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, where he began to earn his reputation as a renowned master of technical watchmaking. In the beginning of his career, he helped to restore and repair various timepieces. He branched out and began creating his own unique watches in 1743, the year he created his first Chronometer. Gevril’s work continued in 1744, when he built his first Repetition Dial. He cemented his legacy as a great watchmaker in 1758, when he became the first exporter of Swiss timepieces, which was a result of a special request from the King of Spain to craft the royal’s personal timepiece. The Gevril legacy of fine and luxurious watches continued beyond the life of Jacques Gevril, thanks in large part to his children. In 1784, Jacques’ son, Moyse Gevril, became a master of creating fine timepieces. As a result, the Gevril business continued to expand, specifically through the integration of enameling and dial creation into the manufacturing of their watches. Today, the company continues to produced some of the most elegant and elite watches in the world. However, many Gevril watches are also considered to be collectors’ items, thanks to their historical value.     The featured watch describe is a "Indivdually Swiss Handcrafted Limited Edition" Gevril Chronograph 5014 in polished tall rectangle Stainless Steel case measuring 34 x 44mm diameter. Fixed bezel. Automatic movement, 42h/power reserve. Displays a Black gorgeous patterned Guilloche Dial with White hands hours markers with bold scripted Arabic numerals hours markers, minute track. Chronograph sweeper at center. Small seconds subdial at 3 o'clock, Chronograph: 12-hour subdial at 6 o'clock and 30-minute subdial at 9 o'clock. Scratch-Resistant curved Sapphire Crystal. Fluted signed crown, chrono pushers. Black Crocodile Leather strap with Tonal stitching, signed Tang buckle. Water Resistant to 50 meters. The watch is attractive.  Like New York City, the  Chronograph 5014 has plenty of international flair, steeped equally in artistic tradition and modern refinements.  The  captures the essence of the  period with its architecturally inspired motifs and bold, precise shapes.
