You will only find this watch in the original "HAND WRITTEN HAMILTON SERIAL NUMBER LIST" located in the NAWCC ARCHIVES. THIS ONE AND 2 OTHERS WERE SOLD IN AUG. 1894 , ONE YEAR LATER 3 MORE WERE SOLD ,1894: serial numbers 6041, 6042, and 6043. 1895: serial numbers 6047, 6049 and 6050. many early watches built by Hamilton were warehoused and serial numbers added as they were sold. this may explain almost consecutive numbers on these 6 , strange how they were sold in groups of 3 one year apart. The 60 may hve been added so as not to duplicate other numbers. All 6 of these sold to E. A. BLAUVELT, Columbus Ohio. Elmer Atwood Blauvelt was the founder of the Preferred Mutual Ins. Co. His holdings were quite extensive thru-out the east. I am not sure of copyright laws , so, I won't print out all of the information. You can do your own search. Quite impressive to say the least !! Many of the early Hamilton watches were sold to investors of the co. also had close personal ties with the management and president of Hamilton. The history and documentation of this watch is some of the best I have seen , just to own one of the watches on the Hand Written List is great !! movement: 936 , 17j , openface tu-tone , engraved C. S. and H. Special , running very nice with good action, new main spring , I hand cleaned the main plate , barrel bridge and balance bridge by hand, did not want to take a chance on losing color, remainder of parts cleaned in ultrasonic.dial: signed Blauvelt and original to the buyer, nice racetrack and red outside minute markers , double sunk , dial has one hairline at 9 o'clock , I did not try to soak out, minute hand was replaced.case: original case was gold filled , dented and cross threaded and well worn, and scrapped. I re-cased this in a nickel display case which I cut myself , very nice , shows off movement very well.Selling in "as-is" condition , ask all ?? b/4 you bid. I do not guarantee accuracy on any watch, pics. are part of description, so please look at carefully. buyer to pay 8.50 shipping to U.S. main land only. All others must use E-Bay shipping program. Thanks and good luck to all !!
