This is a very rare and fine OVERSIZED 1947 IWC (International watch company Shaffhausen) in solid, 18k. gold measuring 37mm.x44mm. Estimated At: 6,000.00 - 7,000.00 USD.Notice the simple, classic lines this watch exhibits. The legendary manual winding caliber 89 IWC movement is keeping time very well. The ivory original dial has a wonderful patina, while retaining the original hands and raised gold colored markers. Notice the grasshopper style lugs. This case has not been over polished. These IWC watches are considered to be one of the most classic looking of all vintage watches, and is accurately keeping time. Dial: in great condition with a wonderful patina, signed “International Watch Co. Schaffhausen”. The hours are marked by gold coloured atons and Arabic numerals at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. The hands are in good shape and the crystal is clean and clear. Movement: IWC cal. 89 17 jewels mechanism winding and setting smoothly, running well and keeping time. The cal. 89 is a robust reliable power unit, used in most IWC manual watches manufactured during the 1940's/50's. The movement is signed “International Watch Co. Swiss”. The serial number dates the watch to 1947.Strap: fitted with a barely used leather crocodile strap Buckle: rose gold 18K signed IWC IWC vintage watches do not come up for sale very often due to their rarity.
