Louis Duchene Verge Fusee 18k solid gold and pearls pocket watch.A very fine and rare 18k gold enamel, verge fusee, pearls pocket watch, signed Duchene Et Fils, a watchmaker in Geneva. The company was founded by Louis Duchêne (1730-1804) around 1750 in Geneva. In 1791 the company was renamed to Louis Duchêne & Fils and kept this name until 1820. Louis Duchene Et Fils pocket watches have been in regular appearance in Sotheby and Christie auctions. NY’s Metropolitan Museum of Art held one of Duchene Et Fils pocket watch (Number: 26.267.52). Milan’s National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci also held it: Running: Yes. No accuracy test.Service history: 2015 service/repair by professional watch maker. Sign of repair on the top left of the inside rim. Weight: 29 -30 GramsSize: 36MM in outside diameterGold marking: No gold marking on the back cover (there is a SN 94550). A small marking on the bow that cannot be read. I was told that the case and dial are18k. There was a ring attached to the bow that should also be gold.Case Condition: about 40 pearls each in front and back covers. Very nice yellow gold color. No dings are seen on the case surface. It sometimes does not click close. Movement: Verge fusee, Key windup from front. Clean. Signed by Duchene Et Fils, 94550.Key: A key is included. Not original. Dial: beautiful enamel dial, marked L. Duchene Et Fils (please see photos). I was also told that the dial is made of gold too. Front winding. It can use some professional cleaning. Hands: nice black hands.
