IMPROTANT: You are buying an antique/second hand item and as such it will not be in mint condition so please study the pictures carefully as you are buying what you see. For the convenience of the buyer I list the approximate timing in the description but please understand that due to the age of these watches I can't guarantee them to keep that exact time to the second. DESCRIPTION: Excellent Working Condition!! Keeps great time and the repeater chimes perfectly, exactly on the hours and quarters. There is some minor wear to the inside covers but not on the outside apart from the bow. I believe this watch is by Magnenat-LeCoultre & Cie of Le Sentier, a swiss watch company founded by Henri Magnenat that specialized in repeating watches. The patent number on the movement is registered by them and an advertisement from the period shows a watch with a virtually identical movement. This is a quarter repeating watch, it has a slide button at the side that can be used to chime the hours and quarters, please see the video for a demonstration. The watch first chimes the number of hours, then a double chime to indicate which quarter it is (none for first quarter, 1 for second, 2 for third, and 3 for fourth). Repeaters have highly complex workings under the dial which allow for the correct hours and quarters to be chimed. CASE: Glass crystal, gold filled, open face, engraved presentation "P Moyle" on inner cover, repeater slide button at 8 o'clock. DIAL: White enamel porcelain, roman numerals, seconds dial at 6 o'clock, blue spade hands. MOVEMENT: Crown wind, 15 jewels, gilt half plate movement, lever escapement, non-magnetic overcoil hairspring, repeater complication, stamped "Swiss Made" and "Brevet (Swiss Cross) 31328" which is the patent number registered to Magnenat-LeCoultre & Cie. Diameter: 50mm Total Weight: 92g
