Rare one of a Kind Late 18th Century Continental Gold Vermeil/Silver, Enamel and Paste Fusee Pocket Watch, 18k-22K the full-plate key-wind fusee movement with a pierced cock with verge escapement, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, the blue enamel case with an enamel portrait of a priest in a paste-encrusted frame, the outer case measurement 48.0 mm, without bow and stem, 91.2 grams total weight. Balance is intact and the chain is intact. Doesn't run and I don't have a Key. The front has 60 Plus Diamonds with about six missing and the back has about Eleven Diamonds with about four or so missing. This watch needs a deep cleaning and adjustment along with restoration. The front lid closes tight and you will have to use a lever near the neck when you press the button. My fingers are old so I couldn't open it the normal way. The dial is cracked and repaired. the glass is good and clear. The hands are mismatched. The bow is good but a little loose. The portrait is intact and good but will need a protective clear coat once restored. This came from an Estate Sale so I do not know the history, And since I do not work on Verge's I am passing it on. This is a very dirty watch but very rare and restorable and will loving tender care and cleaning. I was unable to test the content of the Gold so based on my research on line I took the lowest at 18K for the late 18 Century in France which was typical use for these type of cases. I do not know if the picture is a Priest or Pastor or whom it represents. Your guess is as good as mine. This is and as is as found sale so please ask your questions and use the pictures to bid.  Insurance will be included in the Handling fee.
