A British Army, 'Dirty Dozen' in original condition watch for sale, with 'Commando hands.' The WW2, British Army service watch made by Buren, Switzerland; one of the 'Dirty Dozen' contracted watch makers, (circa 1940s The 'Dirty Dozen' Army watch with silvered brass-turned case, and standard contract screw case-back. Typical black dial with the Buren 'Grand Prix' designation, and broad, War Department arrow. The dial with 1-12 hour digits, plus 60-second scale with luminous hour marks. Subsidiary seconds dial at 18.00 hrs. The WW2 military watch, with chorme-tipped 'Commando hands', these being comparatively broader. The reverse bearing the screw case-back with markings, War Department arrow, 'WWW H 10581 and serial number. The same details to the inside caseback. Good quality, 15-jewel movement with the Buren 'Grand Prix' designation to the wheel. The balance with screw-in weights. Condition report: Hard use to the case please check details photos. Dial clean and original. Hands original with original paint finish. Case-back original clean. The anti-magnetic plate dust cover intact. Movement clean and functioning keeping good time.
