This is a superb 18ct GOLD & ENAMEL French Fob Watch, which is in very good condition and working order.The L'Epine Calibre, 10Jewel Cylinder Movement, has gilt plates, bears serial number 32165 and is working very well and keeping good time. It is key wound and keyset from the back.The 33mm Enamel Dial is in excellent condition and has been fitted with a new Glass Crystal. The 37mm 18ct GOLD & Cobalt Blue ENAMEL Hunter Case bears SN 4197 and is in superb condition, as can be seen in the pics.

General Description: This is a superb 18ct GOLD & ENAMEL French Fob Watch, which is in very good condition and working order. It is signed on the cuvette LeRoy & Fils - PALAIS ROYAL (PARIS), has a French HALLMARK Mark on all the covers and dates to around 1820c. The L'Epine Calibre, 10Jewel Cylinder Movement, has gilt plates, bears serial number 32165 and is working very well and keeping good time. It is key wound and keyset from the back.The 33mm Enamel Dial is in excellent condition, with just a little chipping at the screw holes and has been fitted with a new Glass Crystal. The 37mm 18ct GOLD & Cobalt Blue ENAMEL Hunter Case bears SN 4197 and is in superb condition, as can be seen in the pics. A repair to the area around the hinge has been expertly accomplished.This Scarce Fob Watch is being sold in the condition as described and as illustrated in the pics, comes to you directly from a Long Time Local Collector and has not been on the market in more than 30 years. J.F Britten lists Theodore Le Roy & Fils at PALAIS ROYAL from 1807 to 1825c details the history of the Palais Royal ( the former personal residence of Cardinal Richelieu) and states that from 1784, there were 145 boutiques, cafes, salons etc located in arcades surrounding the gardens of the Palais.
