Interesting and very rare gentleman's 14K A. Lange & Sohne, Glashutte UHR pocket watch, ca. 1938 The watch comes with the Certificate of Origin issued by “German Watch Museum Glashutee” confirming its identity. I also have a copy of the original invoice dated May 24, 1938 that has been retrieved from the archives of the Glashutte Museum in Germany. The watch was originally purchased on May 24, 1938 for 290 Reichsmark (the currency used in Germany from 1924 until the 23 June 1948) by Oswald Firl, a famous watchmaker of the court in Erfurt (the capital and largest city in the state of Thuringia, central Germany) and author of the book "Die handwerksmäßige Feinstellung der Uhren" (The fine adjusting of watches). Manufacturer: A. Lange & Sohne, Glashutte (Deutsche Uhrenfabrikation Glashutte Lange Uhr) Movement Number: 504 291 OLIW (Original Lange Internationales Werk), Cal. 75, Diameter of the movement 43mm, 15 rubies. The movement looks absolutely brand new! Case Number: 55 826 Gold spring lid case with gold inner lid (14k, finesses 0.585), weight of the golden case 40.2 g, channeled central part of the case, index spring fine adjusting device, gold-plated dial with guilloched central part , Arabic numerals, steel cathedral hands.
