Up for sale is this rather rare offering of a 14K gold Hamilton 923 in the original box. While sometimes you see Hamiltons advertised as in the original box, it is just a Hamilton box without proof that it belongs with the watch. In this case there is the original metal guarantee sticker on the bottom with the hand entered case and serial number. The watch is Hamilton 923 was one of the finest watches Hamilton ever made. The movement has the usual 21 jewels plus the jeweled mainspring barrel bringing it to 23. The 923 had a total production of 3600 and based on the number of movements housed in non original cases and movements only, it makes one wonder how many have survived in the original gold case. Then add the original box to that....hard to find. The watch winds and sets well. It keeps good time. The case is 14K solid gold and marked as such. The case has one small dent on the back and I mention it out of courtesy and honesty. The dial and hands are in mint condition. The watch was saved from the scrapper and this fine example was almost lost. I had to pay to have the case returned from where it was sent to scrap. It was then serviced and placed back in its rightful box. The box does have a flaw as seen in the picture that appears to be where someone had taped it in the past. The watch will be shipped insured USPS Priority only. It will only be sent with insurance. Payment is by PayPal. Please contact me with any questions. The sale of this watch is to fund another watch purchase I plan on making so this is not a sale out of desperation. Please remember that if you make an offer. I will only relist this watch a few times and then it will return to the collection.
