Antique solid 9K Gold Elgin Half Hunter pocket watch, Birmingham 1922.
The case and covers are all fully hallmarked: 9 .375.
In the back cover are the British hallmarks "anchor ( Birmingham ) and the date letter “X “ from 1922.
Watch case made by the English "Dennison watch case co.ltd" and all covers have the makers-mark A.L.D.
The Roman numbers on the top cover are slightly fade but the case has overall minor signs of wear.
There is an inscription on the solid gold dust cover:
"To J.A.Watson from his colleagues in the G.P.O. Glasgow on his retiral from the service 8-7-22"
Minor scratches on the dust cover.
Beautifull dial with Roman numbers is in a perfect undamaged condition.
On the watch are the original hands, front and rear covers close well.
The button of the front cover works the cover needs opening by hand because the spring is weakened due to use.
The Elgin lever movement with compensation balance works well and keeps good time.
Diameter 49,5 mm.
Total weight 99 grams.
