The mechanism was completely overhauled by Andrew Markerink, an horologist of some respect in the Asia Pacific. It's heavy in the hand, and comes with two keys, one to wind and one to move the hands location - the central shaft the hands are on has a square drive. I gather it called a 'repeater' and when the top ring is depressed the mechanism chimes the nearest hour. For a ten second video of the chime, search YT for listing "Chiming pocket watch"It has a verge escapement, and is a fusee drive. The hinges are tight, and the glass is unmarked. Andrew told me when he performed the work that this piece dated to 1810 - 1820. It comes with two keys, one winds the drum, the other adjusts the hands via a square ended shaft that the hands run on. Diameter is 54mm, and 14mm thick, excluding the curved glass. It weighs 120 Gms.
