Aesthetic Summary: This antique Illinois Watch Co. Sangamo Railroad pocket watch is encased in a handsome 14K solid gold open-face watch case. Visible signs of wear do exist. Dial has small chip near the 7th Hour and also near the 1st Hour outer edge. Watch crystal has no cracks, but does have some minor scratches from normal wear that will require some buffing and polishing to remove. Other than that, for an antique, this pocket watch appears to have been taken cared of very well. Watch case has been tested with a non-destructive Laboratory Grade XRF Analyzer and confirmed Solid 14K Gold. Manufacturer Hallmarks, Stamps, and detailed design patterns are still very clear and visible. Watch Case has no monograms. Movement Summary: This watch functions work and movement runs. We are selling this pocket watch in the original condition we acquired it, and has not been serviced. Always assume that all pocket watch purchases will require taking it to an experienced or professional antique watch repairer to have fully serviced as we do not specialize in pocket watch repairs. We tested this pocket watch along with an iPhone timer for 12-hours and the watch is running 6min faster. Please look carefully at the photos as they are part of the description.
