Vintage Open Face Movement 48mm across center Charles Frodsham Serial number 09990 ---27 South Moulton Street London, By Appointment To The King, AD -F M S Z- With 2 engraved Medallions on the Barrel Cover with the English and French, Russian and Italian Award Symbols. A Tourbillon Lever Escapement Open Face Stem Winding Pin Setting Movement Only. This movement is in partial restored condition. The owner paid a great sum for this and attempted to restore it and has passed away. There is from what I can see of the dial plate. Posts for a day, date, and calendar perhaps perpetual gear on top and also with the standard seconds hand and hour and minute hands. There is no dial. The mainspring is broken and the chain is loose. The Tourbillon carriage has been partly restored and the lever escapement was attempted to be planted but not finished. The balance wheel and staff are not original as the pallet and escape wheel are also not original. Also parts of the Tourbillon carriage have been made. Quite an undertaking and for a skilled workman worth the effort. I show the movement with and without the dial plate so you can see the condition. Sold for parts for restoration and as is. I can send other photos of this to an interested party.
